Favors received through Encarnita's intercession

Seeking the intercession of men and women who have died with a reputation for holiness is a common practice in the Catholic Church. Examples of favors received through the intercession of Encarnita follow.

40 years of bad migraines

For over 40 years I suffered frequently from terrible migraine headaches that I needed medication to control. I could never get rid of them despite going to a number of different specialists and trying a variety of medications.

A year ago I decided to go to the intercession of Encarnita Ortega, since I remembered that she too had suffered from the same problem. Soon afterwards the migraines that I had experienced every 5 days or so suddenly ceased. In fact, the date on which they stopped was precisely December 1, the anniversary of her death. A year now has gone by and I haven’t had even a slight headache.

I am certain that I owe this favor to Encarnita and I thank her for her intercession, since my life has taken on a whole new tone now that I’m free from this affliction.

55 days unconscious and sedated in the ICU

On January 20, 2012, my husband and I were invited to attend the closing of the diocesan phase for Encarnita’s process of canonization. It was a very important day for those of us who had known her well and we were well aware of what it meant to have lived close to someone with a reputation for sanctity.

That same day we received news that Luis, my husband’s elder brother, had been rushed to the Oviedo Hospital with acute pancreatitis and was in critical condition in the ICU. So we quickly changed our plans and headed for Oviedo, worried that he could be close to death. At the same time, I regretted not being able to be present at the act for Encarnita’s cause, since I had been greatly looking forward to going.

Luis’ wife and I began doing a novena for him, asking for her husband’s cure through the intercession of Encarnita. In fact, everyone in our family was praying for this intention. After spending 55 days unconscious and sedated in the ICU, he is now well on the road to a full recovery and is out of danger.

And best of all, Luis is happy and thankful for our prayers. I think that this experience could lead to a decisive change in his life and in those around him. Thank you, Encarnita! From heaven you are helping us even more.
